December 2009

A special THANK YOU to all of you who had participated in this year's FOOD DRIVE!

Please read on to see what Heather Scott, Director of Development for SHARE Family and Community Services had to say:

On behalf of SHARE Family and Community Services I want to thank you and your clients for your generous contribution of 635 pounds of food for the SHARE Food Bank.  The demand at the Food Bank has jumped by 40% this year.  Every two weeks we are providing 1,000 families with some food relief and 45% of our recipients are children.  There is no public funding for our Food Bank and we rely on the generosity of the community to provide food to those who ask for assistance.  Thank-you for helping families that are struggling to make ends meet.   Thank you for dedicating your Christmas event to helping others.

A SPECIAL THANKS FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE 2009 HARVEST DAY COAT DRIVE!

Thank you to all of you who went out of your way to bring gently used coats to our coat drive on October 24th.  Thanks to your support so many less fortunate people will be staying warm this Winter.  Needless to say, the Salvation Army is so very thrilled with the success of this endeavor. Thanks again for making such a positive difference in someone else's life!

Thank you AGAIN for your Generosity!

We would like to thank all of you who attended our Movie Screening event on Nov 29, 2008 and participated in our food drive. With your generosity, we collected 20 boxes to donate, totaling 738lbs of food!

This undoubtedly will help the many local less fortunate families who rely on these services.

We once again thank you for your participation in lending a helping hand to our community!

Thank YOU for Your Generosity!

We would like to send out a warm thank you to our clients for your selfless donations. Your involvement in this years Harvest Day coat drive made it possible for us to drop off a generous amount of coats to The Salvation Army. Without the support of people like you, so many people would go without the basics. With your help we gave some of the less fortunate a helping hand, through these difficult months. We continue to look for ways to be of service to our community, thank you for your participation in doing so.

Congratulations to Katie Hines!!

Katie recently participated in the 29th annual 24 Hour Relay for the Easter Seals with her team, The Bobbleheads. Katie’s team raised over $47,000 to send children with disabilities to camp this summer! Katie’s team was once again the top fundraiser at the relay and are going to be able to help send 20 kids to camp!

Good work Katie!!!
